Daewoo Matiz - the original appearance of the car, which was created in the studio of Giorgetto Giugiaro, was intended for the new Fiat. Nevertheless, instead of the Italians, the design was bought by Daewoo, which decided to use it for a four-seater A-class hatchback. So, in 1997, the Matiz was born, which still continues to be one of the most affordable new cars in some markets.

The car was produced not only in South Korea, but also in Poland, Romania and India. In 2001, the assembly of Daewoo Matiz began in Uzbekistan, from where the model subsequently enters the Ukrainian market.

Buyers are free to choose between two petrol engines and two types of gearboxes. In total, three options for bundles of power units are available for Daewoo Matiz:

• 0.8-liter engine (52 hp) + five-speed mechanics;

• 0.8 liter engine (52 hp) + four-band automatic;

• 1 liter engine (64 hp) + five-speed mechanics.

The vehicle is not equipped with active safety features. The top-end performance of the Matiz includes a hydraulic booster, front and rear power windows, central locking, and alloy wheels.

The main competitor of "Matiz" is Chery QQ, and the ideological successor - Chevrolet Spark.
